Tax return - side hustle

Good day All, and Happy New Year,

As we finished 2019, I want to ask you about tax declaration. I tried to find a similar thread, but could not find answers for all questions, or similar to my situation. Apologies, If I am repeating/duplicating questions.

I moved to Switzerland in April, and working the full time since. Additionally, I had small income from my side traiding gig less than 5K CHF.
I am european citizen with B permit and make less than 120K CHF.

Could you please advise:
1. If I should additionally declare that side gig, even though I got witholding tax payed by my company?

2. Can I deduct from the side income cost of renting of my apartment, I was working from my apartment as my office, or phone invoice?

3. Can I deduct anything else?

4. Do I need to present all invoices from my buy/sell transactions?

5. How much do you pay for similar tax declaration?

Thank you for all answers in advance!

Steve

Re: Tax return - side hustle

Hi Steve,

1. Yes, in theory, you should declare any additional income as "self-employed"
2. Yes, you can claim a share of the rent as costs in your self-employment
3. What you can deduct really depends, but yes, every cost related to the activity can be deducted (plus pillar 3a, health costs, transportation, etc.)
4. Yes, you need to present your invoices or at least the yearly recap statement alongside the dividends. Do you have Swiss brokers? They should provide this.
5. It depends of the amounts of documents. A tax return can take from 30mn to 1h30+ at roughly CHF 150 per
