Double taxation UK - Swiss

Hi, I have a question about taxation.
I will start to work for a Swiss company based in Bern from April. I will be regularly employed by this company.
Currently I live in Edinburgh - UK, and my job will be virtual (remotely working from home).

Could anyone help me to understand how in my case taxation should work, please?

Thank you!!:)

Swiss side: You will be taxed on any the world wide income and assets starting from the date you are a Swiss resident (register with commune, must be done before you start working). Anything you earned before is not taxed by the Swiss (Federal, Canton, as well as commune).

“Remotely working from home”. Home, I take it, is in the U.K. personal services are taxable where performed not in the country of the buyer of services. VAT if applicable may be different.

Thank you both for the answer.
Unfortunately it is still not clear to me how taxation will work.

Yes, my situation is: I will be a regular employee of a Swiss company based in Bern but I will be resident living and working from home in the UK.

In this case should I assume a double taxation?
If so, how it works?

My understanding is that on the salary paid by my Swiss employer the applicable Swiss taxation must be applied and then on the resulting income that I take home in the UK it may be an additional UK taxation that I should pay as a self assestment.

Is there anyone else in my same situation I can talk with?
Thanks again for your help!

When you say virtual do you mean that you will not be moving to Switzerland, but will work from home in the UK?

Well, when it goes the other way (Swiss resident employed by foreign company), they should get paid gross, with any employer social contribution added. They would then use ANOBAG to pay the appropriate levels of tax/social contribution.

So (and I am not an international tax lawyer), I imagine it should work that way from Switzerland to the UK. I.e. get paid gross, remit the NI/PAYE due to HMRC. See option 3 here: https://www.taxrebateservices.co.uk/...mployer-uk-tax - which bears this out. Your employer is not liable to deduct Swiss tax/NI from your salary if you're not Swiss resident. In fact they should pay you a little bit more to account for the employers NI they're saving.

You could call HMRC and ask them, but based on experience, I'd not bet on getting any useful information from them.
