Withholding Tax and Wealth Tax

Hello everybody

I live in Basel (BS) and I pay a withholding tax (B Permit-EU). In these 5 years I've managed to save about 100k CHF. I've heard, that I have to make a full tax declaration if I have more than 75k CHF. I also get dividends that were never taxed (less than 1500 CHF).

Does anyone know, if I have to make a full tax declaration? This would be painful since I have nothing to deduct (no kids, no medical expenses...) and I don't even have the perks of the C permit.

Re: Withholding Tax and Wealth Tax

What perks?

Just call the tax office and ask. If you have to pay more tax, then you have to pay more. Of course, you could simply not declare, but if you get caught you'll pay interest and penalties.

If you moved to BL you'd probably find the tax burden a little lower. Your health insurance would decrease too.

Re: Withholding Tax and Wealth Tax

The following personal allowances apply to asset tax: CHF 150,000.00 for married persons and for single persons with children, and CHF 75,000.00 for all other taxable persons.

Re: Withholding Tax and Wealth Tax

Yes... it would be around 100 chf and that's alright. Leaving Quellensteuer would be much more costly.
