Tax Declaration when owning Foreign Funds paying "Quellensteuer"

Hi guys,

I am EU citizent with a B permint, paying "Quellensteuer". I do have some fund (accumulation) in my home country.

May I do a Tax Declaration and declare those funds?

Last year I closed some of them and gains were not taxed because I reported I was a Swiss resident in order to avoid double taxation. May I report those capital gains despite of not being taxed in CH?

Thanks a lot in advance, lerning a lot from the forum.

Re: Tax Declaration when owning Foreing Funds paying "Quellensteuer"

In Ct. Aargau, those required to pay Quellensteuer and who have:
a. Earned income exceeding CHF 120'000 per year and/or
b. Taxable assets and/or
c. Income not subject to Quellensteuer

are required to disclose the income and/ or taxable assets and file an ordinary tax return.

See 118 and 119 for governing Aargau law at this link (German):

https://gesetzessammlungen.ag.ch/frontend/versions/2799

Also see Aargau regulations 4 and 9 at this link (German):

Hi Mullhollander, I'm plannig to move in Swiss and I have the same problem of foreign assets. So is better Sciaffusa or Zurich for foreign assets?
If I have foreign assets I loss the Quellensteuer bracket?
