The 3,200 is the 2,500 franchise plus remaining 700 Selbstbehalt?
No, they are the insurance costs.

As I said, around here it is 4-5k, but I will check.

Seems these are all maximum numbers and to put them all in would really be chancing your arm.
For this I think we need certificate from insurance company to know the actual, as not every year we spend 3200-!! For e.g. mine is 220 only this year ☺️

Re: Normal tax bill significantly more than withholding tax

I pay an accountant CHF 200 do to my tax return, and I usually get a refund of around CHF 8,000 once all the deductions are taken into account. It usually takes me 2 years to get the refund so that works out at an IRR of 242% and a money-multiple of 40x what I pay the accountant. It always amazes me how cheap people can be when it comes to paying professionals when the returns are so massive! Lesson learned OP, you saved a few hundred bucks but now owe a few thousand....

You can get the same returns yourself...
And 200 will be for a super-simple accountant work, if you have US stocks or any other "complication", you can expect quite some more.
Especially why keep paying after the first year in which they showed you "the ropes", you can mostly just c/p afterwards?

You only paid 220 for a whole year's insurance?

Medical costs are deductible only if they exceed 10% of your income.
