Quellensteur taxes Zurich from 2017 - haven't got them back yet

Hi, question about tax refunds. I moved to Zurich in 2017, with a B permit, working at a company, taxed at source. I was earning less than 120k but I was paying 3rd pillar and other deductibles, so I filed my 2017 taxes with the help of a professional in March 2018. After that I moved for one year to Lausanne, and recently I'm back in Zurich. But I still haven't gotten any refund back (which, according to the professional I asked, should be around 3k CHF).

Is this long wait normal? The professional told me they were actually lagging behind at the time (the cantonal tax office was still processing some declaration from 2013 apparently), but this seems too long.

It is "normal" that it takes quite a while - but if you want you can call them just to be sure.

Yes, it is normal. I am also waiting for refund since some years, and contacted them in April 2019 to know what was going on. At that time they were processing documents from 2015...
So within 2 years you should hear from them

Wow, that sounds so... un-Swiss!

May I ask you whom did you contact to get the update on your situation? Is there an e-mail address I can write to in English maybe?

Thanks!

I was surprised too
I can't find the email I sent, just a hand-written note I kept about the delay. If I remember well I contacted them (in German) with an online form on their website. They also have a few pages in English:

https://www.steueramt.zh.ch/internet...a/en/home.html

They have an online form in English too:
https://www.steueramt.zh.ch/internet...r_english.html
Hope it helps!

Yes, they replied my email, confirmed that they are still working on the 2016 cases, so I guess it's just a matter of waiting
