If I owned shares of Intel I would have held them for now, but realistically speaking they won’t come back anytime soon. It’s AMD’s next few years and I would bet at the moment on those two stocks AMD and Xilinx.
However, Xilinx is being investigated for possible breaches of fiduciary duty and other violations of law in connection with the proposed acquisition of the company by AMD. Under the terms of the agreement, XLNX shareholders will receive 1.7234 shares of AMD common stock for each XLNX share that they own, representing implied per-share merger consideration of $164.34 based upon AMD's January 12, 2021 closing price of $95.36.
Once this is clarified and the acquisition goes through, it should be able to further strengthen AMD’s position on the chip market. https://wccftech.com/amds-xilinx-acq...eriod-expires/

Today AMAT semiconductor comp. jumped over 7%. I read good things about them last year and acquired some shares all the same.

Noone needs 16 cores in masses, the Apple folks are gonna go M1, the AI/ML folk goes GPU, and there is relatively few of the video people that need cinebench all the time.
For everyday use, a standard i5 is enough for every rational task (alas I'm using a 7-yr old i7 and it's not totally fine). | Quote: | | | | They are also getting destroyed in the server marketm with AMD's new Epyc CPU's outperforming Intel Xeons by a country mile. | | | | | that's true. plus everyone is designing their own chips now... we'll see what happens.
Intel has all the money in the world to turn the tanker around quicker. Until then, they make more money yearly than all the chipmakers combined. |

| | Re: Markets down - Invest now or wait further? | Quote: | | | | | Yesterday Intel surged on the announcement of the new CEO, so I cashed in to lock in the 15% profit.
Intel still have a tough year ahead so I feel it will sink back to the late 40's or more depending if there is another crash, upon which point I will re-invest in preparation for when they make a real comeback in 2022. | | | | | risky strategy if you think they will come back as you never know if the stock won't just keep going up.
that said, i think you're probably right. 2021 is probably a bad year for intel. just saw their earnings release and surprised that the stock price isn't down more on the numbers.
Intel is an interesting stock now. Just looking purely at numbers it looks like a screaming value buy (well at least when it was in the 40-50 price range), but i do have doubts about their future margins/pricing power.

I bought 10,000 Novonix Ord (G3) at €0.69 in November 2020 on the Berlin exchange.
They are involved in battery manufacturing. They closed last night at €1.78...

NIO are also at risk of getting kicked out of the NYSE (maybe not so much since Biden was finally elected).

Having said that, I hope that the new administration will also be positively inclined towards the cryptocurrencies despite the rumours of strict regulations on those ahead. |

I wonder if the dollar will strengthen vs the franc in the next year or two as a result of Bides presidency and the renewed faith in the USA both politically and as a trading partner.

This is the guy who with his first executive order decided to let transgenders participate in female sports. That's what he deeded important.
My bet is he'll be as much as a disaster as Trump if he even lives enough. If his VP becomes President prepare for a leftist "paradise"

Why I don't short stocks reason #372: I've been following this hilarious story of a bunch of nerds on reddit engineering a short squeeze to drive a stock to extreme levels: https://www.thestreet.com/investing/...o&cm_ven=YAHOO | This user would like to thank Phil_MCR for this useful post: | |
