And you really think it was a few guys on Reddit?
GME had over 100% of the available stocks being shorted. It was only a matter of time.

BTW, Mike Burry (the "The Big Short" guy) holds quite a few GME stocks; his average price is less than $6.

GME is up 130% today to $340.

Up 8-fold over one week, 20-fold over one month, and 80-fold over one year.

This short squeeze reminds me of Porsche/Volkswagen during the financial crisis.

Yeah. It's quite entertaining. I hope they try to make a short squeeze on one of my holdings. I'd like to partially exit soon

ĎNerdsí?! I believe the members of r/wallstreetbets officially refer to themselves as ĎDegeneratesí.

The crazy thing is thereís possibly some good DD mixed in with all memes. Itís interesting to watch. One of the original GME posts from that subreddit is from a guy thatís been holding a large stock position and rolling call options since July. Iíve no idea what itís worth now, maybe $20m? The stock is up 127% today!

it was worth $22m a couple of days ago. probably a lot more now

yeah. i've been following the thread and it isn't as crazy as some of the other antics on wsb

GME was actually a company I looked at maybe a year or 2 ago (as a potential deep value target), but i didn't like the prospets and didn't like what management were doing and so didn't invest.

EDIT: it's $47m now. he made $25m in a day!

This is amazing. Did the society finally find a way to screw hedge funds over?

Yeah it's a market zerg rush, fed by helicopter money in Murica. Thanks Trump!

I think I'm just gonna buy some small positions in some of those tomorrow, maybe 100-200 bucks, for fun purpose.

Massive short is rather dangerous game for the broad market in the long run, if it spreads out of control:

https://seekingalpha.com/article/440...e-stock-market

I’m sure the regulators have a headache now.

Well, they shouldn't have allowed shorting 70+ % of the total volume of some stocks in the first place. It's payback time.

But I agree, some new regulations may be on the horizon regarding this

This is so fun to watch, America's very own Peasants' Revolt! The number of companies that have been ruined by shorting over the decades, it's so satisfying seeing some payback. We should enjoy it while it lasts, because the ending is going to be really bad.

Shorting a company won't effect the underlying business, unless they required a cash call as they were going bust!

Well this video aged well

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZTr1-Gp74U

It's a user from WSB who so far made around $50m on GME calls and shares. That video is him going through his analysis for one hour. He does a good job.

He got absolutely trashed by most people on WSB while the stock stayed around $4
