Actual tax rate - global wealth

Dear Forum members,

I have been searching for a long time, but fail to get a handle on the following: tax rates correction due to global wealth

With the double-tax rule Swiss claim there is no tax on global wealth, but it does influence your tax rate on salary earnings in CH...so far so good, but by how much then...deep quite from my accountant, and no luck in the net.
Does anyone faced this question or know where to get the taxrate tables?

Thanks a lot for any pointers!
best, Post

example:
Nett salary: 200k
global wealth (property in other country with rental income):
rental income on foreign property: 50k
wealth foreign property (tax value-mortgage)= +150k

According to comparis the tax burden (wollerau) taken only the nett salary = 24902 (12.5%).
But seeing actual tax rates when the correct for global wealth remains a mystery

Re: Actual tax rate - global wealth

I think this explains it quite well.

https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/automat...-know/43079718
For example, if someone declares assets worth CHF500,000 ($500,000) to Swiss tax authorities, that person will pay taxes based on the rate for that amount. If that person also declares property abroad with a value of CHF200,000, they will continue to be taxed only on the CHF500,000 but will pay the tax rate for the net worth of CHF700,000.

The same principle applies to the rental value of a property, generally between 2.5% and 5% of the total property value. The taxpayer will not pay direct taxes on that value but it will increase the person’s overall tax rate.
You just need to know what your local wealth tax rates are, and apply the rules.

Edit: here's the rates
Municipality of Wollerau: 0.14% in case of a taxable income of CHF 500’000 and 0.14% in case of a taxable income of CHF 5’000’000

Re: Actual tax rate - global wealth

To add to NotAllThere's comment, Ct. Schwyz has a proportional/ flat tax rate on net assets, i.e., the asset tax rate is not progressive.

Example:
Net assets: 500'000
excludable as social deduction*: -125'000
Taxable assets: 375'000
x .06%
225

Then:
Canton factor: 160%
Wollerau factor: 65%
District factor: 15%

Calculated asset taxes:
Canton: 360
Wollerau: 146
District: 34
Total Asset Tax: 540

*- single, no children.

If the OP is worth 5'000'000, the above method still applies because of the proportional tax rate.
