Small side job for a German company, how to invoice and tax it

I live in Switzerland (B permit) and I am employed by a Swiss company.

I want to do a side job for a German company - that might be around 400-500 CHF a month.

How would I do it? Can I just invoice them using my name and address, no VAT number?

Can I declare this income in my tax declaration or do I have to somehow register as a freelancer? The threads in the forum I found talk much more complicated scenarios.

Thanks for all the help!

You have to declare this income, but you need to register as a freelancer, because you work for a german company, you can make a contract, to show the tax office how your work is paid by the hour or as a flat rate.
As you are taxed at source (Permit B) here in switzerland , a tax declaration would be neccescary .

I would also carefully check your Swiss employment contract to make sure that you are allowed to take a side job. You may possibly need to get their permission to do so
