| | Best place to buy & store physical gold in Zürich?
What is the best place to buy & store physical gold/silver in Zürich? I'm planning to prepare for the potential of a strong recession & inflation coming after the extreme money printing (quantitative easing) going on at the moment. So a cheap but even more important reliable gold dealer/bank. I prefer not having it store in my house if possible.
Details on spotprice, fees & total cost are appreciated.
Don't want an gold-ETF or other gold-contracts since contracts could change in case of a major crisis.

Any bank should provide you with an option of a safety deposit box, which you can rent.

Good idea. Anybody knows what happens if at the bank you have a burglary?
Also, let us know of the premium to buy physical gold vs the futures price.

The duty free warehouse at Embraport should be able to address your storage needs.

Degussa, hands down.
Both for purchasing and storage. It's not linked to any bank, so is a bit more discreet.

That said, they have nothing against multiple transactions under 25k...

I see that Degussa has 1kg bars available again (they were out for some time), though the premium (over ZKB) is significant.
I don't know if ZKB actually sells again. They stopped selling for a while, due to lack of availability and COVID19.
I have one of those automated storage-boxes at ZKB. They're about 162-ish CHF per year. I don't really plan on adding more gold, though.
You can use it to store all kinds of valuable stuff that you don't want to keep at home.
OTOH, with the stock-market being pretty much rigged right now, it hardly makes a difference, given that the gold-market isn't exactly the stalwart example of a manipulation-free market either (and never was).

The safety boxes fee at ZKB offer some kind of insurance on the declared value of the items stored inside?

| | | | | I am amazed you believe it's rigged, it's a market where buyers meet sellers, how can you rig that?

I didn't realize ZKB sold gold... do you need an account with them to purchase? Does it need to be stored with them, or can you opt to store it elsewhere? Do you know if they accept walk-in purchases?
