Pregnant & new canton?

Good day everybody,
I need your advice, I am currently pregnant (6weeks) in a miraculous way as I was part of these woman who couldn’t have children.
So well I still don’t know if it will last 🤞🤞🤞
My questions are concerning the law of the paternity.
Currently I was with “the father” since few months and well he is ok to recognize the child but he has some trouble to help in a financial way and not sure we will move together as our vision seems bit different.
I don’t want to steal the baby from him
BUT I m totally new in this canton (3months) and I lost my job (corona, ok it will be postponed to the end of maternity leaves), meaning I m not in the best situation ever
All my deepest friend and family are living in another canton (3h4h away) so that would be easier for me to come back there with baby...
BUT it means baby will be 3h4h away from the father and I m not sure if I can...
BUT if am staying in this new canton It seems I won’t have so much help and I will need to put baby in a school 100% which cost 2500 chf pro month (I check the private school bc there are only few public school and it will be hard to find a place)
AND if the father doesn’t help financially me even If he wants to be the father I can’t do it alone...
so the best for this baby would be : of course the father change his vision first (🤞🤞&#129310 but i need to be prepared to the worst scenario... and in this situation it would be easy for me to go to my parents & friends...

My question:
May I move away from the father before the birth? Or after the birth?
What are the obligation and the amount he must give me if I m staying near him?
I m also looking for business girl who have baby alone how they manage work & baby???

Thank you so much
Cheers

Re: Basel or Basel land with 1 child

Depends where your job is and the place for the childcare.
The Tax rates in basel stadt and the costs for the health insurance are pretty high.
Some areas in basel stadt are not nice at all (klein basel , the end of st.johann before the france border).
Avoid some parks in klein basel after hours.

Re: Basel or Basel land with 1 child

Thank you.
My job is with lots of traveling so better not too far from train station or motorway.
But I thought about taxation with a child.
I read there are no deduction in Basel Land so I m bit worry on this topic.
Thanks a lot
Cheers

It is the law that your child must go to school, and therefore your canton must provide your child with a place at state school for free.

Maybe she means creche/daycare? Too early to worry about schools if you are 6 weeks pregnant?
