Neon bank x Transferwise

Neon bank has now integrated transferwise into their app, making it easier to send money overseas. With Revolut decreasing its transfer limit and increasing transfer fees, perhaps this might be a better option for some?

disclaimer: i have no affiliation with Neon nor Transferwise. Do not consult strangers online for financial help.

Re: Neon bank x Transferwise

I thought this was great at first, but then noticed that Neon adds on a “TransferWise convenience fee” if you use it in the app. The conversion rate is the same, as is the TransferWise fee, but when I tested 1000chf and compared, the Neon value had around 4chf extra on it for the stated reason. Not a lot I know, but still if you do it many times a year then it all adds up...

Neon website states this:

“The fee is composed by two parts: the TransferWise fee and the convenience fee (that we get). The TransferWise fee consist of a small fixed fee and a variable percentage - the larger the amount, the smaller the percentage. The convenience fee is always 0.4%“

Re: Neon bank x Transferwise

transfer from Neon to Transferwise was free even before.

The problem is how to move CHF to a CHF account abroad...

Transferwise still charges a fee for that.
