Language travel abroad, is it deducible?

Hi Everyone,

Are the expenses I paid for my daughter's language travel abroad deducible from yearly taxes?

TIA

Re: Language travel abroad, is it deducible?

For your underage daughter? I think no as it is not considered Weiterbildung (continuous education).

It might be on your daughters own tax return under Berufsauslagen und Weiterbildungskosten. But she would need to have completed her upper secondary education which is Gymnasium, apprenticeship OR be at least 20 years old.

In some cantons you can only deduct the actual school fees in some others the cost of the complete trip.
