Receipt of filing Withholding Taxes

I'm new to all this taxation stuff.

Me: B-permit, employed, less than 120K a year, canton Bern, been paying withholding tax on all my income and have therefore never filed a tax return.

I'm not sure what terminology is correct here but is it possible to get a receipt of my withholding tax return from the tax office? Basically some sort of form that would say I've paid such and such taxes, and they've deducted such and such from my income.
When you file taxes do you get such a form anyway?

Who would I ask for this form? The Bern canton tax authority, the Bern city tax authority or the government tax office?

You can find this info on your monthly paycheck or the annual income statement you get from your company. States how much the employer on your behalf paid for tax and social security.

Thanks, I aware of that document.
But is there anything else that exists e.g. something from the tax office rather than the employer? Like a federal/kantonal tax certificate.

I think you can only get that if you have filled in a tax return?

Kind regards

Re: Receipt of filing Withholding Taxes

Withholding tax is the 35% deducted from interest paid on investments and unlikely to be anything to do with your employer or salary.

I assume you are paying Quellensteuer - tax deducted at source on your income. Filling in a tax declaration will be a lot of work and unlikely to get you any money back.

There was a post recently on EF by someone complaining that they paid more tax after completing their first tax declaration...

I am aware of the implications; I am paying Quellensteuer but for other reasons (taxation abroad) I need to provide some document from the government/canton rather than my employer indicating that I have been paying Quellensteuer and how much has been paid.

I this documents exist although I'm not sure what it would be called. The closest thing I could see would be to ask for a reassesment, which would at least give me a form...
