What is the best bank to open a debit/saving and credit account?

I'll be going straight to the point:

I got an L visa and I need to open a bank account.
- I will be making withdrawals. at least 1 a month
- I will be paying with a card in the shop
- I will be probably making V/M internet payments (plane tickets, amazon etc)
- Cheap transfer fees to German euro bank account.

what is the best account? Atm I think about migros or coop

Thank you!

1) Neon for bank account. If they don't allow L permit people try CSX or Zak

2) Revolut or Transferwise for international transfers - cheaper than using your bank. Also for spending in denominations other than CHF

3) (Free) cashback Amex for credit card

4) Migros or Coop credit card for places that don't take amex (although they are only very slightly better than the mastercard which comes bundled with the amex so you might not bother)

My advice would be to check which banks definitely offer accounts to those on L permit. When I first arrived I got an L permit before my job started, couldn't seem to open a bank account anywhere, tried Migros, Kantonalbank etc but said they wouldn't give an account out with the l permit. I got my b permit then went with Postfinance, generally has been really good, 5chf per month fee but good for depositing and lots of ATMs. Depending on your circumstances it might be better to wait to get a B permit?

Re: What is the best bank to open a debit/saving and credit account?

If your employer has the time, and you're concerned you might have trouble opening a bank account, you can take your employer with you ... mine offered to come with me to help me set up a bank account on arrival, any time there were questions or hesitations which looked like they would delay or prevent the account opening, he popped in with a burst of Swiss German to clear the roadblock ... had the account set up in about twenty minutes, on an L permit.
This was with the Kantonalbank, as back then the PostFinance card was not accepted in even as many places as it is now - and there are still a few places in Switzerland which don't take the PostFinance card for some reason, and nobody has ever told me why ... :/
