Do I need to pay tax for my sells on ebay

I would like to see some unused stuff on ebay. The price is only from a few franks to less than 100 franks. I have a full-time job already in Switzerland. if I sell anything on ebay, is that considered as my second income and do I need to claim this (and pay tax) to the tax office?

Thanks

the answer:

"It depends"

If this is a one-off gig, selling your private household items no.

If you are actually buying/creating things/services to sell them, then yes. Even in that case, I believe there is a threshold amount allowed by the Swiss tax man.

How can it be income? You bought the "unused stuff" originally from income you already paid tax on - and paid VAT on the stuff too.

But if you'd like to pay even more tax, be my guest and add it to income on your next tax return...

if it is useless 2nd hand stuff, you probabably didn't make a profit on it anyway. you are taxed on profit not revenue.

It doesn't matter where the money comes from. If you make a business of buying and selling, the income would likely be taxable. It's clear though from what the OP said that they're not doing it as a business.
The info is available online. You just have to google it.

But every time when I buy stuff from outside Switzerland, I always need to pay the customs tax and it seems that is a normal business (import).
