Re: Question about the withholding tax ( Quellensteuer eidg )

So Ive been hit by this as well

From Tariff B at 7% tax to Tariff G at 21%

Contacted the offices to dispute this as it is way too much, am I right in understanding there is really no way to challenge this?

Theyre not really clear on the information provided, it appears I can request a change AFTER the tax year so after March 2021

Surely something can be done to appeal this as its a significant deduction

Tax year ends December 31st. You must request a full return before March 31st after the end of the tax year. If you miss this deadline you can no longer request a correction.

You would have to object against the "Verordnung der Finanzdirektion über die Tarife für quellensteuerpflichtige Arbeitnehmerinnen und Arbeitnehmer". Which is possible but might take a lot of time. Never the less you might send some nice worded letters to Silvia Steiner, Ernst Stocker, and Carmen Walker Späh. https://www.zh.ch/en/regierungsrat.html

I just see that Tarif G assumes a flat rate deduction of Fr. 3000 (per year)

7% on B means 8300 gross, which would be 10.08% on A.
21% on G means 12400 gross. You get more money when on RAV?

Do you guys have kids? Wait, what? Tarif G has no reduction for kids?
I see, looks like you have 4 kids. Tarif G is just
