uk mortgage account questions post brexit

I have a cash account with NatWest and a mortgage account with TSB on a UK property that is rented out.

I haven't heard anything from NatWest

But TSB have written to say they will need proof of my residency (ok) and that they will no longer be able to offer me any 'changes' in my mortgage policy due to 'Brexit'.

Anyone heard anything similar ?

Similar situation to you. Natwest accounts; nothing different. I have a mortgage with C&G, but didn't receive any notifications related to Brexit. What would you want to change, anyway?

Re: uk mortgage account questions post brexit

I'm surprised they didn't need proof of your residency previously, I don't think that's a Brexit thing apart from them going through their records and using it as an excuse for stuff they should already have.

I think most normal residential mortgages move into a "no change" status when people emigrate, mine with HSBC did, Brexit hasn't changed anything there.

Re: uk mortgage account questions post brexit

TSB did ask for and receive some documentation.. so have to understand what they're on about..

and they have changed the terms in the past.. (can't remember if it was 2020 or before)

and... I don't want to change anything at the moment.. but it's the idea that I can't if circumstances change and I want to....

I'll talk to TSB later in the week to get a clearer picture
