I'm actually very surprised how much stuff IS available in English.
Moving to Germany was really hard because I didn't know German and official stuff was rarely in English, and I knew only about google translate and it was 2017.

Now I know about deepl, my German is existent, and in Switzerland so much stuff is readily available in English, to the extent that I feel like it's the fifth official language. That makes things for newcomers so much easier, but yes, one should keep in mind that's not given, but a gift
