How can tax software determine the value of a call option on stocks?

Hi, As there is no ISIN number for call options on stocks, how can tax software determine its value? Example: AAPL Jun16'23 95.0 Call (APPLE INC). Thank you, PS. How do we report a call option on stocks in the tax software? Under derivatives category I believe?

Black-Scholes model, or last trade price or last bid/ask on last trading day. The latter can be hard to find on the internet for free, but for the right price it's totally not a problem to obtain.

If you're filling taxes yourself, just fill in your best guess. It's not a problem if it's wrong. They'll either accept it or correct it.

Hi all
stock options like aapl are exchange traded. Every day has its own settlement price, also on the last trading day of the tax year. the settlement price will be determined either by the last paid price or the clearing houses are calculating a theoretical fair value.
And yes, this option is a derivative instrument.
