The original epic HODL post is well worth reading. It's comedy gold, but it's also as true today as ever. Markets go through cycles. Hodl, and ride them out.

C&P’d Roegner

First things first: How do you pronounce “dogecoin”? According to the cryptocurrency's co-founder, Billy Markus, the correct pronunciation is “dohj coin.” Some prefer to pronounce the first syllable like “dog” or “doggy.”

That’s not what the PayPal founder thinks
....just in case anyone is wondering why Bitcoin price has dramatically dropped.

"Ideally, doge speeds up block time 10X, increases block size 10X and drops fee 100X. Then it wins hands down," Musk said via Twitter in response to a post made by a dogecoin fan account.

"For those bad at math, 100X higher transaction volume with 100X lower fees means total fees earned stay same," Musk added. "Low fees and high volume are needed to become currency of Earth."

Wait for eco-friendly XRP shooting up after they got rid of SEC from their back

It’s unbelievable how every single Musk’s brain fart on Twitter shakes the childish crypto market

First he glorifies the bitcoin.
Then he buys the bitcoin.
Then he doesn’t accept the bitcoin.
Later he criticizes the bitcoin.
Afterwards he implies to sell the holdings of bitcoin.
Then he reassures he still holds it.

What a multi-billion prankster!

With any business of this sort one needs to be humble and know when to shut up. Clearly, he doesn’t know how to and pretends to be self-proclaimed expert on cryptos.

Actually he is just manipulating the market because he can... He knows full well what his comments will do to the value of the currencies and can make a killing off that... then he can pretend to "save the day" with some other coin fork or "idea".

Just ignore him... this has nothing to do with energy efficiency it's just market manipulation

Re: Dogecoin

During today's lunch, one of my colleagues made me remember something important: if there's demand, someone will always supply. Natural diamonds are one of the most useless things on Earth, but if someone buys, some digs them out of the ground and meets the demand.

Not an expert on this, but coinbase trades 65 cryptocurrencies. https://help.coinbase.com/en/coinbas...yptocurrencies

Just for reference, UBS trades 50 national currencies. It seems that if someone wants to buy crypto with cash, sellers appear out of the blue. So, the money is in selling whatever to buyers

This whole crypto space could turn potentially into trillion dollars joke. Now they came up with what’s not called “stopelon”

I can't help but consider crypto-currencies a vehicle for money-laundering or generally storing wealth from questionable origins.

Nothing new really.

The moves were not Beijing's first moves against digital currency.

In 2017, China shut down its local cryptocurrency exchanges, smothering a speculative market that had accounted for 90% of global bitcoin trading.

In June 2019, the People's Bank of China issued a statement saying it would block access to all domestic and foreign cryptocurrency exchanges and Initial Coin Offering websites, aiming to clamp down on all cryptocurrency trading with a ban on foreign exchanges.

Yep it has nothing to do with the China "news". It's just news media trying to find a way to create a headline and stay relevant in a field that they no longer understand. If you watch the intraday chart of bitcoin, it's not news triggered (no spike). It was just that slow selling got accelerated beyond a critical support, and it seems that some big accounts get liquidated.

Of course, only old farts mistake a liquidity test for selling, everything's fine

What a day, and then Coinbase is offline temporarily so that you can watch your miney disappear live on CNBC without ability to act. Probably Musk will take to twitter tonight to guide with his wisdom.

This market is a joke.
