| | Dogecoin
I would have thought there were many on here who loved the animal welfare causes it has generated wealth for by its very sympathetic users.
I bought quite a few months ago and feel inclined to distribute some of these gains to similar causes.
I’m shocked its reached over 0.50 cents, over 40% today. Power to the Doge!!!!

Indeed. It’s amazing how few tweets by the greatest in industry can change the history of financial markets by promoting such a useless coin.
Unfortunately, I never owned it but equally satisfied that I managed to purchase the ETC (Ethereum Classic) at the beginning of the year. |

I am new to this crypto game. Did some searching online and couldn't figure about how swiss taxes side of this. Do you have to declare crypto accounts in the annual declaration?

Sure like any other assets. Look for the key word Kryptowährungen or Cryptomonnaie in the form.

Ignoramus that I am, of both cyber currencies and internet memes, I read 'Dogecoin' as Doge, as in the Venetian Doges.
Oops.

So you piqued my interest, did a bit of searching, and found an article about a Dogecoin investor who used her profits to pay the adoption fees for 21 dogs in a Florida shelter. Nice.

Experienced dogecoin buyers, please help. Which site did you use to purchase the coins? Kraken? Biance?

Thank you for helping out a rookie | | | | | Binance has Dogecoin to buy. I wouldn't recommend it has a long term investment though. I feel the rug is going to pulled soon and there will be a lot of unhappy people at that point.

Think about whether this is an investment for you, or a gamble which may go very well. I don't buy crypto, but of course now wish I had. A mix of crazy volatility and a lack of understanding of this market are clear red flags for me.

If you want to invest in it for some fun then I'd do it (my get out clause in case it moons and you blame me )

| | Re: Dogecoin | Quote: | | | | | Thank you. Now I am on the fence about buying doge | | | | | You should avoid chasing big pumps, whether these pumps are in the stock market or in the crypto world. Accept that the ship has sailed and if you really want to buy, wait until it comes back down. Don't let the fear of missing out get to you.
I attach two images, the first one depicts the stages of a bubble and the second one is the last 7 days of DOGE's price.
I'm not saying that it'll come crashing down today or tomorrow, I'm just saying that this pump does not look healthy. | The following 5 users would like to thank IslanderInTheMountains for this useful post: | |

The guy must know he moves markets when he tweets - must be on very dodgy ground legally since people will be making / losing money as a result of his actions. Perhaps they should've thrown the book at him the first time he moved market prices... https://investorplace.com/2021/05/el...idden-message/ |

Thank you for the information everyone | | | | | IMHO it's a gamble, not an investment. With dogecoin even more so than with the "legit" cryptos. | Quote: | | | | | The guy must know he moves markets when he tweets - must be on very dodgy ground legally since people will be making / losing money as a result of his actions. | | Re: Dogecoin | Quote: | | | | | On the other hand, Musk has called Tesla stock overvalued multiple times, including last year. | | | | | He paid a USD20m settlement to SEC in 2019 without admitting guilt after implying he had secured funding to take Tesla private at a price above it's then market price, when it was not true. Which pumped Tesla's price up.
I suspect having Tesla HQ and jobs in the US influenced the decision to let him off lightly.
Wonder what would happen to Tesla share price with Musk in jail ? |
