Freelancing below 5000 CHF without specific registration - is it possible at all?

Hi all,

I was reading in a forum (not English Forum!) that it is possible for people to perfom free-lancing activity if the money associated is below 5000 CHF

is this true at all?
I know that in other countries it is possible, there are some taxes to be paid off.

if true, how I would have to declare the work?

You must register with AHV office and pay them their cut (10.6%) already from 2300 CHF/year and tax in principle is due on any income no matter how small

Do you mean per month or per year? If per year it's a bit over the legal threshold but if undeclared you'd probably not get into much trouble. But if you're keen to pay the small amount of tax you're liable for, Google your Kanton's AHV office.
