Does pillar 1 contribution paid by unemployment counts for retirement?

I'm helping someone who lives now in EU to fill the forms to claim the Swiss pension. The form has a place for all previous employment periods in Switzerland. What about the period of unemployment (RAV/chômage) where the contributions were also paid at source. I advised to put the unemployment period on the list, am I right?
