Re: Sale Proceeds of Sale of a Building drawn out of company

Cashboy is already paying for an accountant as a shareholder of the company, would be more efficient to swallow pride and ask him/her

I was an accountant in the UK but really was asking here if there is witholding tax on the reserves on a voluntary liquidation in Switzerland before I do my calculations and decision.

If you are an accountant you should know that tax authorities do not joke or listen to made up stories. And an accountant would know that what can be legally done in one country may be forbidden in another…..

Re: Sale Proceeds of Sale of a Building drawn out of company

‘(Company) Real estate capital gains tax
Capital gains earned from selling real estate are either subject to income tax or real estate capital gains tax, depending on the canton or municipality of the property.’

So what it it in Tessin?

The company accountant has also filed 3 or 4 years worth of accounts, surely you need to sit down with them, the other shareholders ( the husband in this case I guess) to see if they will consider this.
Did your mother/ the husband, pay income tax on their share? Or withholding?

On a plus point , Switzerland has DTA with UK AND Thailand, so the income tax you’ve already paid on the 600k is ‘in the system’ so you won’t get taxed twice.

UK may require some extra as both 40% & 45% bands will be involved over £37,501K & £150,000K no personal allowance with such a high amount.
