Re: Withholding Tax

Do you have any resources on how to calculate taxes to understand whether filing a declaration could make sense for my 100k income?
I can tell you that with such a salary you can deduct a maximal 3a pillar contribution* and expect to get back 700-900 CHF. This without a full tax declaration, just the Quellensteuer simplified deduction form.

*note the "a" in "3a": the 3a contribution is capped.

Considering that your net hourly wage is in the ballpark of 35-40 CHF/h, investing 4-5 hours on the full declaration to save 300 CHF might not be that interesting. In a similar situation after some preliminary math I decided to forget about doing the full declaration as long as I was on B permit.

Of course YMMV, particularly if you expect to have non-standard income or reductions.
