Pension Increase Exchange (PIE)

Just got a letter offering me PIE. This is a scheme where you can opt for an immediate pension increase in return for giving up your rights to increases in the future.

Seems to be designed to protect the pension provider in times of coming high inflation while leaving the pensioner they are supposed to protect deep in the brown stuff.

Of course, can be a good deal if you do not have long to live - sadly most people underestimate their life expectancy so lose out.
