Transferring pension back to the UK vs pending vested benefits account

Hi,

Leaving Switzerland to go back to the UK and been advised my 6 months pension contributions will be transferred in to a "pending vested benefits account".

Is this better than transferring back into my Uk pension

Also anything else I need to know about leaving Switzerland (been contracting for 6 months as an employee of an agency).
