Unmarried couple expecting kid

My girlfriend is expecting our first child very soon. My question is would I be entitled to a tax break. I have seen that married couples with kid pay reduced tax but is this available for unmarried couples in Aagaru living together.

Re: Unmarried couple expecting kid

Most probably yes. There may be rules about length of cohabitation. Another prerequisite maybe that you adopt the child or are paying child support.

fyi:

you will effectively have to 'adopt' your own child to become the recognised father of it. a lot of paper work I believe (someone I know in VD had a nightmare!) and getting married might be an 'easier' option. I suggest you look into the finer details pretty sharpish!
