Quellensteuer - Taxed at source

Dear all,

Can someone explain the details about quellensteuer.

When I first came I had to pay quellensteuer, and then I was told that from a certain income bracket you don't anymore. However, despite having surpassed this bracket I am still paying quellensteuer.

Also, if i pay quellensteuer do I still need to do a tax return? I have not done a tax return for the last 3 years and no one ever got back to me.

As you can tell I am lazy and do nothing in regard to sorting out my taxes.

Would be grateful for your insight.

Somehow that doesn't titillate the altruistic, "help-thy-neighbor" fiber in me.

I wonder why.

These topics have been covered in great depth many times before. I suggest you use the search function and try various terms such as "paye" and "tax return".
