Hello,

Very last minute, but does anyone know whether moving expenses are deductable? Also, we used poor students to help us move so no official receipts. Any suggestions on getting a bit more off on 2008 taxes?

No receipts = no tax deduction

There was mention of a flat deduction for relo expenses somewhere on this forum, some outrageous sum, over 10K Swissies IIRC.

Yes, I think I remember that but it was for relocating here from another country. Anyway, I asked at the tax office today and they said that even with receipts you cannot deduct moving expenses within the country.
