"best" online bank?

Hi,

probably an answer out there that I can not find...

I arrived in Basel today for a new job and I am looking for a bank account for my salary that has high interest rate from first CHF, excellent online banking incl paying bills and transfer money (Sweden/USA), good debit/atm card rates. Is there something like that? I have an excellent online bank in Sweden with those properties (Skandiabanken), but it seems hard to find some thing like that here as I think a Swiss company would not like to pat out my salary with them(?). Anyone knows anything about Axabank?

Thanks!

Jonas

Well, maybe not the answer you're hoping for.

Define "high".

As you're new here, I assume you'll have the time now to pop over to Comparis, switch to English, sign up and have a good look. Its coverage is pretty good. So I'd imagine that whatever you find there will be pretty close to "the best" that is available.

A single bank might not ideally fulfill all your criteria. You can choose a high-interest bank for your savings and another bank for its on-line facilities and another as credit-card issuer. PostFinance might be a good compromise if you insist on a single institution.
