Getting taxed in Switz from your salary for a British citizen...whats up?

Hey guys, I'm offered a job in Switz in the county Bern on 5800/month CHF....75400 a yeat

I'm wondering how does tax work in Switz? How much can I expect to be taxed?

I seem to be hearing different things, one guy I know who is a Swiss national told me gets taxed around 800 CHF a month

Then some guys from the company said coz your a British national, foriegn...that I won't get taxed anything..it's redeemable or something

Then someone else said you will get taxed but very low and direct from your salary

Anyone know what's the deal?

you'll pay swiss tax, which is less then the uk, how much I have no idea and it varies from canton to canton but budget on taking home 80% (ish) of you monthly salary once all deductions have been taken off

(this assumes your a proper perminant employee, not a contractor working for an umberella company)

don't forget that also includes pension payments, which you have no choice about, and in the uk you would be taking home 75% excl pension payments.

the 80% is just a rough guide, I work in zurich and thats roughly what I see of my salary, a lot depends on your circumstances as well, if your on a fixed term contract then you can claim ex-pat allowances too.
