Interest on credit cards

I understand that I can ask for interest on my credit cards to be offset against my Swiss taxes. As the interest is calculated and billed monthly, how do I go about submitting this information to the Swiss tax authorities?

Do I need to hold onto the statements for the year, then submit them at year-end?

Re: Interest on credit cards

Almost.
The credit card company will/should issue you a statement year end with the amount of interest you've paid. . .

Best

Re: Interest on credit cards

I've never had an annual statement of interest paid before -- will a UK card issuer provide that?

Re: Interest on credit cards

I have had CC's in the US, UK and CH. Not one ever provided such a statement. I seriously doubt any issuer does that.

after all, it does undermine the whole business model.

the last thing they want is for people to say .... you're charging me HOW MUCHHH ????????????

Re: Interest on credit cards

Be happy to provide proof if that's what you need dude.
I receive a statement every year, have done for the last 15 years detailing the interest I've paid. .
I dont think the credit card company would hide the interest you pay, after all, it's there on every statement you receive. . .
Both my cards are Swiss, Cornercard and Viseca. . .

Cheers

Nick

Yes, when filing a regular Swiss tax return.
