What is the benefit of an Euro account with Postfinance?

Hey guys,

I have some Euro in cash for which I am deciding whether to change it into CHF or open an Euro account with Postfinance for future needs. Has anyone experience for such account? Is there any cost involved? Or maybe should I go for E Depositio in Euro too? (I see the interest is higher?..what's the catch?)

Thanks for sharing the information. :-)

Regards.

If the Euro E-Deposito is anything like the SFr account, the catch is you can only make 5 withdrawals in a calendar year, without penalty.
Go here for more info http://www.postfinance.ch/pf/content...dep/offer.html

Hi, reviving an old thread.

In was wondering any catch with having a postfinance account in CHF and putting money through a 2nd postfinance accounr in EUR, through SEPA paiments.

I mean if you take "banknotes" out you'll have a poor rate + fees.
If you make a SEPA bank transfer, it's free and you get the "currency rate" (ie the one with higher conversion).

Am I missing something?

PS: it's for the occasional purchases when the CHF is high value compared to the EURO, not to do anything regular or transfer large amounts.

Re: benefit Euro account Postfinance? transfer EUR to EU country

Kicking old tread, hope to get some info:
transfer CHF via Postfinance to EUR account outside CH has bad exchange rate. Now tranfer from CHF PF account to EUR PF account and then to EU EUR account would be any better??

Post finance CHF to Euro rate will be the same, gets better over 50k Euro to Euro has no exchange rate!
From a Post finance Euro account you can withdraw Euros in cash at no charge.

HiFX / Travelex / Ozforex / FX global transfer / Swissquote ?? Anyone comments on this?
