The bank cancelled my Euro transfers!

I had 2 euro transfers pending and now all of a sudden they are no where to be seen anymore

I can not believe it, and it is very frustrating and irritating.

The amounts have not been deducted and I have no information what happened.

have any of you ever experienced something similar?

and yes I will change bank!

Re: The bank cancelled my Euro transfers!

You can usually trace the transfer if you phone up the bank that issued the initial transfer. They are however not liable if you supply them the incorrect details - e.g. wrong swift code, A/C, etc.

Re: The bank cancelled my Euro transfers!

I send/receive a lot of transfers and have not had this happen to me. I would call your relationship manager and ask about it. I have always found them very helpful. Just yesterday, I had a problem with an incoming transfer and they solved it and called me this morning to let me know that all is well.

Good luck.

PS - I am also with CS

This is a tad suspicious. As I am sure you are aware Euro transfers don't happen the same day. The banks here usually fix the rate, allocate your money and perform the actual transfer a couple of days later.

In other words they should already have book the transactions to your account. If this has not happened then how did you enter the transfers? Ebanking probably and there there is os much that can and does go wrong that I would be getting on the phone to check.

I had an experience where I wanted to make a transfer, not a small amount, and I entered all the details and pressed the button. When I checked my account the transaction had "disappeared". I did it again and got the same result. I gave up and tried again the next day when all went well. Two days later I got my "Belastungsanzeige" for all three transactions, ie the two that disappeared and the one the worked. Letter and phone call and threat to close my accounts were the remedy then and I suspect will be your remedy.

Re: The bank cancelled my Euro transfers!

This may sound funny but it has phappened.
Depending on where / to which bank, company, individual etc your transfer was supposed to go. These days banks follow very closely the international transfers. For example, if your transfer was to a company which deals with banks / countries currently under sanctions, the bank will not honor your request. Just a thought....

Re: The bank cancelled my Euro transfers!

Is this Credit Suisse?

I had that issue for a payment I made. I am 100% sure that I programmed the transfer. Come transfer day, there wasn't a sign of the payment. I had to do it again and this time I kept a PDF of the transfer. Sod's law, of course, meant that the transfer went through without any issues.

Exactly the same happened to me with CS, had a transfer to a UK account ready to go, double checked status and everything else, it just disappeared... Last Wednesday/Tuesday.

Had to do it again, was a but worried as it was for a large-ish amount and would be stranded if it went out twice.

Re: The bank cancelled my Euro transfers!

Yes it was Credit Suisse!

Interesting that you have had similar experiences!

The thing is that I tranferred money to my mother in law and she told my wife today that "I did not get the money, can you send an PDF?"

I go to create the pdf of the transaction and now it is not there

Now I will get branded a liar and cheat

atleast I can email this thread to my missus so she can see it happend to other people.

thanks a lot for your replies
