Custom fees/taxes on nutritional products from the UK

I am coming over to Lausanne for a year next week as I am doing a work placement there, I have been using MyProtein for a few years now and would like to continue using their products when I'm out there, as the prices for supplements are ridiculous in Switzerland and I am sure it would still be cheaper getting them from here. Postage is £25 to post to Switzerland from MyProtein so I would plan on ordering some big bulk orders (like around £200), but will I incur any additional heavy charges like import tax or customs charges?

Thanks,
Aaron

You are likely to incur VAT and customs handling charges as documented elsewhere here on online orders.

Have you thought of switching to muesli??

......

You'll have to make sure you can import it and that it does not contain ingredients that could be considered medication according to Swiss standards, should the product not yet exist here.

Check out the fitness centers first and see if you find it. If so the comapny that imports it will be stipulated on the product. It could be easier to contact the importer.

Well.....stuffing the face with carbs would be pretty stupid if you want protein I would say.

Just for once please try just to answer the question and not be so damn "besser wisser".......

You haven't even attempted to answer the question or make a stab at humour - presumably you can't do either...

I see no point in repeating your first sentence, as this is correct.
I could have added that the VAT will be 7,6% and handling fee for Die Post is CHF 18....I give you that.

What bothers me is the why-bother-to-pay-for-protein-when-you-can-do-this-and-that-comment.

I have now read the initial post 4 times and....NO....there is no question like "is protein good for me?" or "what can I eat while I wait for my protein to arrive...?".

So sorry that my response to another member's post should have bothered you so much. Clearly I was not nearly anal enough and should have stuck to the question as posed without deviation or comment. It'll try to remember that for future reference, thanks...

Come again....way too anal. Since the müsli comment was NOT funny at all I took it for at I-know-so-much-better-shitty-comment!

What was your point then??

On second thoughts....don't bother.

Reminder to myself: Don't read EF right after drinking strong coffee.

AbFab: You're right. I was anal. Sorry.
