Questions: receiving AHV but living abroad (New Zealand)

Could someone please point us in the right direction concerning our AHV?

My husband and I left Zurich just over 6 years ago. (We were not married when we lived in Switzerland if that makes any difference to tax payments).

Me: I have dual citizenship - NZ and UK - so I understand that even though we now live in NZ I am unable to withdraw my AHV. However from posts in this form I understand that I should probably move it to a different canton like Schwyz - is this correct? And I can do this by contacting a finance company that offers FZ accounts. Is this better than trying to transfer it to an NZ pension fund - am I allowed to do this?

The husband: only has NZ citizenship. When we left Switzerland, he thought that he had been paid out his AHV. But it was a very small amount - around 2,000 to 3,000 CHF I think - he worked in Switzerland for about 3 years. So perhaps this was only Pillar 1 - do you get a payment from Pillar 1 when leaving?

How can we find out if he has further payments due? I have the link to the refund form http://www.zas.admin.ch/cdc/cnc3/cdc...id=31&elid=249
but don't want to go through collecting all the paperwork only to find there is nothing for him to claim.

If he is still owed a refund, is it better for him to transfer the money to a different canton than ZH with a lower tax rate before requesting the refund?

Thanks for any help!

Perhaps the brochure on this page could help.
