It goes without saying it is a scam. The name pronounces for itself "Smile Bank". Once they've cleaned your account they will be called "Laugh Bank".
no no! The bank is legit - the scam artist is using the name of the bank for nefariousness....

Re: Help needed urgently! Smile Bank - is it a trick???

Hi people,

Sorry that I write here quite a long time after the last post, but I'm in a similar situation. I made a deal with someone from the UK and I received the mail from the bank that the money will be transferred to my account as soon as I give them the tracking number of the item to prove I've sent it.

The main reasons I got suspicous were that the guy wants me to send the item to his "daughter" in Nigeria... and that the mail of the smile bank does not end with @smile.co.uk but much more with @accountant.com, to be exact: s.bonlinetransfer@accountant.com, though the mail itself looks very real.

Now I wrote to the bank if this mail is really from them and I used the only address I found: "Ive_seen_a_scam@smile.co.uk". I haven't received an answer from them yet since it was just yesterday, but much more I got a second mail from s.bonlinetransfer@accountant.com.

You do not state what the item is, but think it through - is it logical that someone in Zurich should be asked to send something to Nigeria?

OF COURSE it's a scam. (The bank is real, as they want your cash)...

Re: Help needed urgently! Smile Bank - is it a trick???

Thanks a lot for the quick answer!

Can I just write the guy and the "bank" that I wish to cancel the deal without getting any further consequences?

It's a scam. Don't write to anyone. Google accountant.com you'll find it's a fake:
eg:

The more you write the more info they will have on you...

Alright, I won't... so nothing too bad can happen if I don't react? Phew!

I'm truly amazed people are still getting scammed by phishing emails. Just go the banks site - they all have pages on what to spot and how to contact their security dept.

I already read through that and contacted them on the address on that site! No answer yet, but we'll see...
But thing is, the two mails I received from the "bank" did NOT ask me for any information or something. If that was the case, I wouldn't have reacted at all.

You were wise to ask us first. Revenge? Play them along, tell them you want to send the money by Western Union to Wolverhampton. Then tell them you made a mistake and the clerk sent it to Northampton.

The UK telephone number +447024038052 is quite well known if you Google it !!!!!
