| | Help needed urgently! Smile Bank - is it a trick???
Hi, anybody familiar with the internet transfer process of Smile Bank? Should the amount be credited to receiver's bank account directly or receiver will need to confirm the transaction? I suspect it is a trick, but would like to check to see anybody has experience with Smile Bank. Thanks,

It's a real bank - a pretty good one in fact, I've had a business relationship with them.

What strange is the amount includes transportation fee, Smile Bank instructed me to pay the transportation company first before they transfer the money to my account. How can I pay the transportation co on behalf of the buyer before receiving the money from the buyer? is it wierd? the transportation co seems real too...

What is "transportation" - transportation of what? Do you mean transfer fee? What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I am selling furniture on line. Transportation fee is what the buyer pay for moving the furnitures to his place. He should pay it directly to the transportation company in my opinion, as it is a self pick up sales.

In any case, this has nothing to do with Smile bank, which is a legitimate bank.

If so, what's the "tricky" aspect?

if you don't mind, would you please give me your e-mail account so I can forward you what I got from the Smile Bank? I don't want to use the forum to discuss specific personal issues. Hope you can understand.

This sounds just like another spin off from the UPS scam... Money waiting, lottery won etc, just pay the admin fee up front...
Were you expecting a transfer ?
If you send emails , include the headers. Paste the content into Google, that might spot it as a scam.

Phone : +447024038052
E-mail : sbtransfer@accountant.com Smile Bank Plc ®.
above is the signature of the e-mail I received. Looked at the Smile Bank website and I didn't see the telephone number there. I may try the "Security" service from Smile to check it out. |

I googled, and it didn't bring up Smile Bank. I am quite convinced it is a trick now. Smile Bank and Allo Expat's names are misused.

An 070 number is a UK "personal" telephone number which can carry extraordinary call charges. It's a scam by itself.

Something obvious to you but may not be the same case to Foreigners. Thank you two for helping me figure it out. Case closed, my first scam experience abroad!
How can we play back to the person creates the scam?!!!
Additional information, be cautious if you receive e-mail from williansmithuk03@gmail.com saying he wanted to buy something from you, this is where the scam started. |

It goes without saying it is a scam. The name pronounces for itself "Smile Bank". Once they've cleaned your account they will be called "Laugh Bank".
