Swiss Maestro / Bank cards

Hello,

i have only been living in Switzerland for two months and will be going on holiday next week.
Just recently i thought about the six digit pin codes in switzerland. In Europe they have four digits. Can i still use my swiss card on an ATM in Europe even though it has a six digit pin?

This may sound like a silly question but I am not sure .... Thanks

I believe you can but you can also change your code here to 4 digits!

Re: Swiss Maestro / Bank cards

I've heard that there can be problems in some countries.

I'd suggest going to your bank's nearest ATM and changing your PIN to a four digit one, either permanently, or for the duration of your trip.

I've been using a four digit PIN since the day I got my card, and have never encountered any difficulties either here or elsewhere.

I've never had a problem with it, but if you're unsure about it, you can change your pin to a four digit one at most ATMs. You don't have to have a six digit pin here.
