Self Raising Flour: Found!

Ha! I found self raising flour in zurich! It's a Thai brand but I assume it's the same. It's in the Asian supermarket in HB on the mezzanine level under Platform 18. Costs around 5chf for the bag.

Let us know what it's like when you used it and then maybe I'll buy the rest of the stock...

Re: Self Raising Flour: Found!

If it's 5 chuffs for 1kg, forget it. Make your own; it's much cheaper*.

1 cup Denner Kuchenmehl + 1 teaspoon baking powder = lovely self-raising flour

* 1kg of flour is CHF1.30 or less.

Thanks guys, you just killed off all the fun we could have with the flour newbies.

I suppose you will be posting a brown sugar process next ?

Em, this problem has been fixed already in the thread about brown sugar: If I remember well, you just mix household sugar and ordinary molasses, bought in Migros, Coop, Aldi, Denner or Lidl

Re: Self Raising Flour: Found!

Icing Sugar: Puderzucker. 1.50 - 2.00 per kilogram
Ordinary Suger: Feinerzucker maybe 1.00 per kilogram
Caster Sugar: Feinkristallzucker (may be slightly coarser) 1.15chf a kilo
could also be called: Feinster Zucker.

All available at your local swiss supermarket...

If you have to add baking powder, the flour is not self-raising anymore
