| | Buffalo sauce?
I am a biiiiiig fan of buffalo sauce. And not just on chicken wings but on plenty of other stuff that I am not going to mention here.
Do you know where I can find that sauce here? I have my unique half empty (I can't see it as a positive half full when it is almost finish and have no replacement! ) bottle that I brang back from the US and I am very conservative with it. But I would love to knock myself out as much as I can in the Buffalo sauce...
So, any ideas of where to find it or even maybe the perfect receipe to make it?

I appreciate the recipes, but if someone has one that has been taste and run, I'll prefer that than trying and maybe like it or not.
Ah! Applebees buffalo wings, dear love!
I can invite you over but you forgot that I have a toddler... and God knows (and all of us) what you think about kids and housewives... |

| | Re: Buffalo sauce?
I've been thinking about trying to make some buffalo sauces lately myself. One of my friends suggested "just" butter and tobasco to start and then go from there to adjust taste as you like.
Usually a good place to start is to see if you can find a copycat recipe from a favorite place - it isn't my personal favorite BUT as their wings are actually pretty good, here is a copycat from Hooters to start you off. | Quote: | | | | 1 1/2 C. butter (3 Sticks Butter)(softened)
1/2 C. + 2 Tbs. Tabasco Sauce
3 Tbsp. Brown Sugar
3/4 tsp. Paprika
3/4 tsp. Salt
1 Tbsp. Balsamic Vinegar
3/8 tsp. Cayenne Pepper
2 Tbs. Chili Sauce
Mix all ingredients together. This will store well in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Serve this with the Hooter’s Hot Wings. | | | | | My favorite comes from a family owned restaurant in the Daytona Beach area called Booth's Bowery. So far I've been unable to find a copycat recipe though.
Since tobasco is so expensive here, I've been thinking to taste some of the spicy sauces I've seen at the local Asian markets to judge what sorts of things may "need" to be added to make a sauce I like.
I HAVE come up with a bbq sauce I like, starting with Heinz hot ketchup in the cocacola bbq sauce recipe I've linked before, perhaps that would work alright as a base for a thicker buffalo sauce as well.

I was at Hooters (called a Hooters Family Restaurant) 3 weeks ago in the US. The Wings and the Hooters aren't what they use to be. | Quote: | | | | | Well, they ALSO show sporting events on big TVs - I imagine that is something you already knew though? | | | | | Nil. You should just order some off the internet. May be a seller on Amazom.com can quench your thirst. Personally I bring a crap ton of FRANKS back everytime I go to the US.

There is a mexican grocery store in Zurich, El Maiz ( map), that has a great selection of hot sauces. It looks like they carry "Melinda's Wing Sauce" and "Melinda's Extra Hot Wing Sauce". I've never tried that kind before but it might be worth a shot.
If you're not in Zurich you can order from their website: http://elmaiz.ch/oscommerce/index.ph...uage=en&page=4 | This user would like to thank timchurch for this useful post: | |

In Geneva there is a little store called "American market" that sells food and stuff from the US. Perhaps there is something similar in Basel?
If not, they also sell online: http://www.americanmarket.ch/ . They have a buffalo sauce called "Frank's", I don't know if that was what you were looking for.

Hi Nil,
You can get Frank's at the American store in Geneva, but I have never found it anywhere in German-speaking Switzerland. And believe me, I have asked ALL the Americans I know!
You can buy Frank's in small bottles at Sainsbury's in the UK now if you feel like flying over for the day.
The only other thing for it is to do like I do, and shlep bottles of Frank's and Texas Pete's back from the US next time you're over.
BTW, the wings at Hooters in Interlaken are poor. They make the mediocre wings at Hooters in the US look amazing.

I do a great mediteranean salad full of veggies and rice and I love to had some chicken pieces on top of that (made in buffalo sauce)
Miam miam... for the rest, I'll keep it between my husband and I...
Joking! (Or am I?)
