Marche. Fermo to be precise. are you fammiliar with the area?
My friend's Ducati self-destructed while I was riding it in the Marche a few years back (maybe 10).

We spend a week or so each spring (last week in April) riding in the area, usually based out of Casentino. Been doing this since 1987! We mainly stick to Toscana, but a few times we've gone into Marche and Umbria. The year the Ducati broke, we were based in Norcia (Umbria), and two years ago, in Arcevia (that's in the Marche, no?)

Yeah, well the Bolognese also put milk into Ragu Bolognese. Clearly, they have too much milk!

Tom
I'm not allowed to make it any more in my house as I once forgot to put the milk in.

OOOh I couldn't tell you to be honest !

Well I believe that Tuscany is geographically the same as Marche but twice the price..
Marche is just less known. If you speak Italian, its the perfect holiday spot!

"Arcevia is a comune in the Province of Ancona of the region of Marche"

Agreed.

Most of my riding friends are Italian (and most of the rest are Ticinese).

But the roads are far better in Toscana (very important for motorcycling)!

As I recall, road surfaces in the Marche are best used with an enduro, not a sports bike!

Tom

P.S. My girlfriend and I spent a few days in Rimini last summer, and took a day ride (by motorcycle, of course) to Urbino (which is in the Marche)

Re: White Pasta Sauce

Oh right. Yes I wouldn't know the area around Ancona. I leave the grotty port towns for truckers and people en route to Croatia. I like to stay in my little haven of Borgo Della Nave in Campofilone

There's an amazing riding place in my little village, you might have heard of it : Monta Vecchia? Its a very popular place for travelling riders ( horses !)

Yes, but then we got into the details of carbonara, and there you go!

OK, here you go:

Equal parts cream and Gorgonzola, and Bob's your uncle! (great on potato gnocchi)

Re: White Pasta Sauce

Well, get back to carbonara and other pale sauces and I'll ignore the off-topic for now - but you do realise that you run the risk of getting all those posts deleted don't you?

I did, didn't you see my recipe for Gorgonzola sauce that I just posted?

Another would be: butter (that's all, though olive oil and parmagiana are often added)

Ask for "pasta in bianco" around here, and that's what you get!
