Re: Tonight's dinner?

Hörnli (with a few chopped veges)in cheese sauce, and Applepuree (Àpfelmousse?)

At first I thought the idea of eating purèed apples with pasta was insane - but it`s quite a nice combination, actually

Re: Tonight's dinner?

I was delighted to find the first blood and liver sausages today in my local butchers. I'd just come back from collecting chestnuts acorns and other interesting seedy stuff for my playgroup so those "wurstli" went perfectly with my autumn mood.

So Blut and leberwurst.
Sauerkraut
boiled potatoes
spiced apple wedges.

Yum!

P.S. LIB I'm so jealous, cos I just love Pepto Bismal.

I had the same reaction. Liver OK, blood sausages no bloody way. I'll eat most things, but not a semi-congealed bloodclot thanks for asking.

I've had soup which contained cubes of "semi-congealed bloodclots" - a bit like tofu except red in colour. It didn't have much flavour (a little bit "meaty", but overpowered by the soup) and, like tofu, it's no doubt mainly used as a texture.

Does that include delicious black pudding?

What a load of wimps! If we are going to slaughter the animal, then eat it blood and all! Every country has a way of processing the offal. I hold my hand up, I'm a mean eating machine.
