I've got some of my single friends coming over so I'm making old fashioned Lancashire hotpot and apple crumble with vanilla ice cream.

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Lamb, brown beans and vegetable soup.

The snow is thick outside and still snowing heavily here.

Everyone hung-over from attending the Weihnachtmarkt in village last night.
Well, we walked thru the market, and ended up in the pub ......... not a very clever move!

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Tandoori chicken (it's been marinating since midday).
Spicy lentils (Dal), spent about 3 hours on that, it's been simmering for 3 hours now...with cinnamon, garlic, turmeric, cumin, cardamon, onions, tomato, etc.
Raita, (yogurt with finely chopped cucumber mint and spices).
Rice.
Chutney.
Serve with sliced onions and tomatoes.

Then get the kids to set the table.

No wonder — from the photos, it looks to have started out as one huge beast!

Oh, and our dinner was a moitié-moitié fondue with extra garlic and a chasselas. Dessert: Nidwaldner Zigerchrapfe.

Half was consumed last night, and 1/3 of the remainder given away.

Stuffing was four loaves of bread, 1kg sausage, 700g bacon, 500g chestnuts, onions, and celery, and eight eggs.
