Oooh, they have smoked one? I will look next time, it's a great market, though the sea food section scares me a little bit, it all looks like it's still moving..

They do serve champagne with whatever it is, true, but I don't think it will make the moving less scary.

Raclette it is tonight, with herbs and all the little tricks locals told me to do, yum.
Yes, they do have smoked mackerel I bought it there before and it's yummy!
I adore the food counter at Divonne market. There are actually several of them, but the most popular one is my favourite. If you're scary of the moving stuff, try to approach it from the left side - this is where they have all the ready-to-eat stuff like tarama, seafood salads, marinated salmon, and our favorite mackerel!

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Roasted red pepper and tomato soup, made with shallots, garlic, fresh chili and smoked paprika. I added the juices from the pan that I roasted the peppers and tomatoes in so there was no need to add much stock and the smoked paprika gave a lovely sweet, earthy flavour. Served with a swirl of cream. Delicious.

That sounds wonderful! Can I ask, where do you find your smoked paprika?

Re: Tonight's dinner?

A friend of mine brought me some over from Spain ... I hadn't tasted it before but now I am addicted to it! I am not sure where you can buy it in Switzerland but you can purchase it online here and they will ship it over, at a price.

If they dont have it there (which I doubt, of course), you can get sweet smoked paprika in Migros too. (dont know if Santo Domingo, but I got a Spanish one for sure, one time even a Hungarian one)
