You have a grandiose kitchen? I'm envious. I've yet to see a grandiose kitchen at all over here. The two I've had are both postage stamp size.
No, I was actually being sarcastic. It is a small, open kitchen which I very much wish it was larger, and differently furnished and equipped. I might have to wait for that, but it will come one day. Just thinking of it, I will design it myself.

Yeah, I know. When we win the lottery. Never mind the kitchen - I'll be designing the whole house!

...a winter garden is a must! Even a summer kitchen.
Seriously now, you are right about the sizes of kitchens here, they are mean.

I do.

Two fridges and a freezer.

A meat slicer, ice-cream machine (with compressor), fryer, coffee machine, soda club, microwave/hot-air oven all on the counters and ready for use.

A 2.5m long wall of shelves.

A gas grill and a charcoal/wood fired smoker on the balcony.

Tom

Definitely.

I've got a chest freezer down in the cave and some extra food storage shelving in my laundry room, but it would be nice to have a big kitchen with pantry next door. Not for a multitude of applicances, but simply more workspace to prepare meals on. I had to buy a table for the current kitchen as it only has one tiny area between the sink and the hob to do any cutting/slicing and putting meals actually on the plates. WAY too small!

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Red lentils soup with lots of other vegs and parsley (own recipe) and homemade bread. I discovered I can make a very good bread, and relatively fast. The smell of it!

Would it work with little bread rolls, too? Can you post a recipe?

Bunte Kartoffeln!
Potatoes with red and green peppers, shallots, garlic, artichoke hearts, crème fraiche, cherry tomatoes, basil. Yum!
