Note to self: canned peas are less than mediocre. Next time, snap frozen in the bag is a better idea.
.
Pretty much most canned vegetables. Apart from canned peas the saddest of all is canned sparrow grass.
Speaking of which, I'm going to have this tomorrow because I still have some canned asparagus I'm not going to throw away.

Coop. «Bell» brand. (We only buy it when it's 50% off based on expiry dates.)

It'll do.
Thanks, I picked up 500g (at 50%) the other day.

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Tonight's dinner was brought to you by the technique of: spontaneously looking at what ingredients you have in the fridge and pantry and putting together an idea on the spot.

The result was penne with a mushroom cream sauce, including pancetta bits and pine nuts.

Re: Tonight's dinner?

Tonight it's pork chops (for almost nothing, thank you Manor), string beans stewed with herbs, mushrooms stewed in butter and carroway seeds, and roasted potatoes. Aside of the pork chops, all leftover ingredients.

And a fab banana bread, since I hate wasting food and the one sad giant leftover banana and a few walnuts are asking for it, I will just throw some salt, vanilla, maple syrup in, cinnamon, flour, egg, raising powder and sugar.

I am on a few years of no-measurement-in-cooking protest song, makes me looking forward to the exciting adventure.

Yum yum yum.
